Stuff That Makes Me Happy

I first saw the British version of the Office, in fact I got the whole DVD set including the special based on word of mouth, and I was like, yeah this is the funniest show I've ever seen in my life.

Then the announcement that there would be an American version. NO.
I was one of the ones going WHY? What? Blasphemy! They can't do it! Why change it?
You know, you can't blame us we've seen American television!

But this US version is even better. Yup. They are apples and oranges, but the US series I can watch with my son. He gets so excited about this show. It's really one of the joys in my life, it's so funny. Steve Carell is great. I don't know how to spell his name.

AMEN.
I CANNOT watch this show without laughing out loud, spilling my dinner or peeing on the couch.
I think it resonates (sp?) so well because T, we KNOW these people. Everyone does.
Sad but true.
Sad but funny.
Funny and sad.
Just the way I like it.

The Us version of the Office if QUITE OBVIOUSLY not better than the uk version.
The humour is more obvious and in your face but ther is no way that the humours is better, no way, i shall take thee to court over this!

Ed, you think you'd have a slam dunk case, but you'd be amazed with the suprise evidence I'd introduce. At best we'd be left with a hung jury and the apples and oranges analogy. Don't mess with someone who was alive when SNL first aired kid, *wink*.

AH i think it may be a "culture thing" I have a few American friends over here who just gaze blankly at the classic Brittish and Irish comedies, but then find... Anchorman "funny" ....*shudder*
